slice of life
I have been waiting for this gif set all my life.
Mary Blair’s Concept Art vs Production Celluloid
Every other post I see on here is either about depression, procrastination body image issues, being “forever alone” or liking pizza…
I for one would like to think the cause of this is tumblr itself. Do you know why your depressed? Because you’re on tumblr. All day long you reblog depressing quotes, and find some kind of possible way to relate them to your life. Try to find a happy quote, I bet you could relate it to some aspect of your life just as much. Do you know why you didn’t get your paper done? Because you’re on tumblr re blogging every gif about procrastination. You also may not be single if… wait for it… you didn’t spend a majority of your time posting about being single on the internet and did something about it. Talk to people in person, not through your keyboard. Do you know why you have body image issues? Well for one, it’s because you like pizza. But two, it’s because all day long you’re reblogging pictures of thin, stylish girls with great hair and clothes and personal photographers and who spend hours editing their pictures. How did ombre become a trend? Tumblr. Tumblr is defeating originality because no one can figure out how to be themselves anymore because they are too influenced by who and what they see on the internet. I can truly say, and this is coming from someone who used to be depressed and single and self-conscious, you don’t need the internet to make you feel better. I used to love writing about depression on here but as life went on and I got through high school and made some better friends and got help, I am a much happier person now and I barely use Tumblr anymore. I am not saying tumblr is a cause for depression, but it’s rather a cry for help and it makes me sad to come on here and see cries for help via text and picture posts. To me, the internet always seems to make people feel worse about themselves than better. You shouldn’t let everyone on the internet influence who you are, sure the clothes on here are what’s in styles and really cute, but incorporate them into what you like instead of something completely different. As for being forever alone, you won’t. I never thought I would get feelings for someone ever again after all I went through, but here I am now with someone to say I love you to every night. I don’t actually know the point of this whole rant but I don’t think you need Tumblr to let you know it gets better or to tell you how or what to be in life. I think everyone let’s social media and blogging sites influence them too much and it can bring a person down rather than bring them up.
